The Section of Critical Care Medicine comprises a multidisciplinary group of physicians from the departments of Anesthesiology, Medicine, and Surgery, and critical care Nurse Practitioners.

Each physician staff member is certified in Critical Care Medicine. In the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), the critical care staff functions exclusively as intensivists without regard to their primary discipline, but with the added background and expertise they bring from their primary training.
